Taquen: Van Eyck

During his visit to Ghent, Spanish artist Taquen left us some beautiful works of art. For example, he painted a large wall as a new addition to 'The Goldmine' at Nieuw Gent.

But he was also inspired by Ghent painter Van Eyck for a mural at the Ghent Tourist Office. From his own typical style he interpreted the famous self-portrait of the great master. In this way, the Tourist Office was given a terrace that is much more pleasant for them to enjoy.

Fun fact!

The mural is only visible from up close inside, but can also be seen from the highest tower of The Castle Gravensteen! So for those who want to see the wall itself, from a distance, in real life...
